The Teak Town house seen from the frangipani garden path

More than a property. A part of our story.

Seventy years of heritage in Nilambur's teak country — kept, and quietly shared, with pride.

This house has stood for some seventy years — built in the traditional Kerala way, and furnished with handpicked wooden furniture, each piece with a history of its own.

It is an ancestral home first, set among six acres of garden and fruit orchards on the edge of a town the world knows for its forests. The wood is cared for, the gardens tended, the doors kept open.

We'd rather share this place slowly — with people who want to feel Nilambur, not just pass through it.

We could have let it become just another rental. Instead we've kept it as it was meant to be lived in: unhurried, green, and generous. When you stay, you're not checking into a hotel. You're being welcomed into a home.

Teak country

The wood that named a town

Nilambur is where planted teak began. In 1844, the first teak plantation on earth was raised here at Conolly's Plot, and generations later "Nilambur Teak" became the first forest produce in India to earn a Geographical Indication.

Teak Town sits in the heart of that country, about 2 km from Conolly's Plot. The house itself is furnished with handpicked wooden furniture, each piece with a history of its own, and its verandah opens onto the green.

Our pride, your experience

Kept the way it was meant to be

Six acres take work: orchards to tend, lawns to keep, old wood to care for. We do it because this isn't simply a business to us — it's a place we're proud to share.

That's the difference you'll feel here. Not the polish of a resort, but the warmth of a home someone loves.

Come and feel it for yourself.

Photographs and words only go so far. The old wood, the birdsong, the cool of the courtyard — those you'll have to visit for.
